Rental process was easy but unit has experienced flooding and damaged some items. Can’t say if it was due to extreme weather conditions or unit requiring modification or repair.

I had questions about the units, and they were willing and knowledgeable to answer. Even encouraged me to look into a couple of the available units to make sure I got the size I was looking for. I went down and did this, then immediately rented a unit while I standing there. It couldn't have been easier.

I have always been very pleased with the storage units. I have had it many years now and surprisingly no mice like other storage units in central Illinois. Was so happy when it went to online billing. American Way Storage——-5 stars.

Update 8/5/23 - They reached out to me and cleared the air. They swear they tried contacting me via calling me, but recieved no response. I had service issues during the period they said they tried to call, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt regarding the lack of contact.I spoke with Braden, and he was very helpful.I’m currently working with Braden and the police to get the issue resolved.Updating the stars to 4, I would do 5 but they only have 1 camera on the property to prevent this type of issue.Have only been renting for ~9 months from their Sidney IL location.So far, I’ve had 3 locks be cut off and had multiple tools stolen from unit.The company only ever notified me the 1st time this happened.I just went up to get some stuff today and my lock was gone, replaced by one of theirs.My bill is current and has been the entire time.They have no emergency contact info so I’m just SOL on the weekend, which is the only time I go there.Leaving this one star review unless the company reaches out to me today, 8/5/23, and gives me access to my unit and explain why my lock is gone with no communication on their part.

Great storage area I always feel as if my personal belongings are Safe. The property is always clean no complaints. 4 stars 🌟 would be 5 🌟 except the monthly price keeps going up. I chose the storage unit alot because of the price. Single parents need affordable.

Although I am yet to have a whole lot of interaction with American Way, they have certainly made a great first impression. They recently bought this location from Sidney Mini Warehouses, and I received information about the transition via OG mail, and email. A few days after receiving the information I received a call from someone within the company and they were calling just to basically introduce themselves, make sure I had received the communication and give me an opportunity to ask about any questions I may have. That was a really nice touch. I’m also pleased with the variety of options I now have to pay my rent each month, although there is something so satisfying about slapping a stamp on an envelope and dropping it in a blue box. I’ll probably update this within a few months after having some more experience with American Way.
